Nick Williams

Nick works for Halifax Regional Municipality's Department of Recreation as Acting Program Manager for the Needham Recreation Centre. Nick has studied commerce at St. Mary's University and is an active member of his community in Mulgrave Park. Nick helps at the local food bank, and puts together neighbourhood events and activities such as basketball tournaments, fundraising BBQs and setting up his community's computer lab. He is a member of the Board of Directors of HeartWood, a leader in youth development programs in Nova Scotia, and in this role is an Action Team member responsible for coordinating 'people power' with projects. In addition, Nick played a significant role in a pilot program of Youth-Led Community Action Projects (YCAP) hosted by the United Way of Halifax Region with Canadian Heritage. Nick helped the pilot project from A-Z, including application design, reviewing application submissions as well as awarding grants to youth who had applied for financial aid in the $110-$1000 range to see a
project through.
